It may surprise you to know that many of the individuals utilizing HomeFirst Gwinnett’s warming station ARE employed, albeit underemployed. While their current wages may allow them to get a hotel room for a few days, oftentimes that money runs out before their next payday, so they find themselves without shelter.
Because our community volunteers have been sharing information about warming station opportunities, we’ve reached our unsheltered neighbors who may not have otherwise known this resource is available. Your actions literally saved a life. Actually, 66 of them in a month’s time.
