SUMMARY:GUIDE Cultural Competency for the Prevention Professional
DESCRIPTION:This course\, approved by the Prevention Credentialing Consortium of Georgia as a Core Course\, will give Prevention Professionals a refresher in cultural awareness and appropriateness in the prevention field. SUMMARY:Virtual Dementia Tour: Peachtree Christian Health
DESCRIPTION:Peachtree Christian Health invites members of the community to participate in a virtual dementia tour (VDT) to better understand what people living with dementia experience daily in their lives. Trained facilitators guide participants outfitted with patented devices that alter their senses while they try to complete common everyday tasks and exercises. The Tour enables caregivers to experience for themselves the physical and mental challenges those with dementia face\, and use the experience to provide better person-centered care. \nThe reality is that when dementia strikes\, it strikes the whole community\, not just the individual. The VDT is a great way for members of the community to have a glimpse into the world of dementia and then develop their own recommendations for their business\, family\, or anywhere that dementia is experienced. Appropriate participants include first responders\, local businesses\, community groups\, houses of worship\, etc. \nTours are offered on the last Thursday of each month now through October 27\, 2022. Walk-ins are welcome but appointments are encouraged. Call 770-624-2727 to schedule your VDT.
