DESCRIPTION:This virtual course\, approved by the Prevention Credentialing Consortium of Georgia as a Core Course\, will provide a basic foundation of substance abuse prevention knowledge that can be further expanded through ongoing prevention training and development. By the end of this workshop\, participants will: \n\nIdentify protective factors currently being used or those that will be implemented;\nIdentify one prevention process/program that represents each prevention strategy;\nIdentify risk factors;\nDetermine what works in prevention;\nDefine prevention strategies; and\nOutline historical timeline of prevention\n\nThis course occurs in two parts on Tuesday\, October 18 and Thursday\, October 20 from 10 am – 4 pm. Registrant must attend both days of webinars in order to receive credit. \nThis is one of four core courses required by the Prevention Credentialing Consortium of Georgia (PCCG) in order to earn your prevention credentials. \nRegistration for this course closes at 5 pm EST on October 11\, 2022. This is an excellent opportunity for school districts\, governmental and community-based organizations\, and corporations who wish to expand their diversity and inclusion educational opportunities for their employees.  \nStudents have followed a rigorous process encompassing the entire school year to conceptualize\, write\, edit\, perform\, and prepare Lunchbox for their communities. Lunchbox will be performed at the Lawrenceville Art Center from May 27th to May 31st in honor and celebration of AANHPI Heritage Month. Lunchbox will be one hour in length\, followed by a 45-minute discussion facilitated by ASA students. There are 8 shows in total\, each with limited seating. Tickets are on sale now until May 23rd for $25\, and prices rise to $30.
