As our community works to support those struggling with substance abuse and addiction and their families, Gwinnett County Public Library invites all Gwinnettians to tune in to their upcoming program featuring award-winning journalist Sam Quinones and CNN Correspondent Nick Valencia. Sam Quinones is an American journalist best known for his reporting in Mexico and on Mexicans in the United States, and for his chronicling of the opioid crisis in America through his award-winning book Dreamland: The True Tale of America’s Opiate Epidemic. Sam Quinones will discuss his new book The Least of Us: True Tales of America and Hope in the Time of Fentanyl and Meth

Quinones has been with The  Los Angeles Times for 23 years. His work appears in National Geographic, Pacific Standard Magazine, the New York Times, Los Angeles Magazine, and other publications. Nick Valencia is an award-winning CNN correspondent based in the network’s global headquarters in Atlanta. He regularly appears across CNN, CNN International, HLN and CNN en Español.
